Keeper of the Flame by Drew Harrison portrays the second of two dazzling 'dump and burns' performed at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games as a part of the Closing Ceremony. The 6 Squadron (RAAF) F-111G, crewed by Flight Lieutenant Andrew Buttsworth and Flying Officer Brad Machan, swooped over Sydney Harbour in a spectacular display that kick started one of the greatest fireworks displays of all time. Keeper of the Flame was awarded a People's Choice prize at this year's RAAF Annual Heritage Awards. Please note, the frame is not shown in this reproduction. |
